As of 26 July 2000, 89-00137 had accumulated 2,489.0 D model hours and 6,061.0 total aircraft hours. 89-00137 was a conversion from the original C model Chinook 67-18517. On 26 January 1989, 89-00137 was inducted into the D model program, converted, and assigned to the United States Army Reserve, located in Washington State. In May 95, 89-00137 was part of a four-ship detachment (Detachment 1, Company A - "Hook-ers", 6th Battalion, 158th Aviation Regiment) flown to Beaumont, Texas, cocooned (shrink wrapped), and placed on a fast boat bound for Port au Prince, Haiti, West Indies. 90-00212, 85-24354 and 90-00214 made up the rest of the party. On Sunday, 30 July 2000, 89-00137 was transferred from Company A, 5th Battalion, 159th Aviation Regiment, located at Gray Army Airfield, Washington, to Company A (-), 7th Battalion, 158th Aviation Regiment, located at Fort Hood Texas.
