The following photographs document the condition of Chinook helicopter 85-24336 while the aircraft was undergoing RESET at Fort Campbell, Kentucky in August of 2009. After an aircraft went to the Theater, either Iraq or Afghanistan, it was inducted into RESET. RESET was a program designed to bring the aircraft back to a pre-deployment condition, contrary to the popular belief that it was a rebuild or overhaul program. The aircraft was disassembled, cleaned, inspected, repaired as necessary and in most cases painted. Often the aircraft came out of RESET almost as good as a brand new aircraft. The teams of mechanics involved were given high praise for a job well done. |
